History

The history of the Zhostovo trade goes back to the beginning of the XIX-th century. In this century workshops of making painted varnished products from papier-mache appeared in the number of villages and countries of the former Troitsk volost (nowadays Mytishchinsky zone of Moscow Region).The beginning of Zhostovo  tray craft relates to the name of Vishnyakov brothers.

The price list of Vishnyakovs said: «The workshop producing varnished metallic trays, biscuit dishes, pallets,  papier-mache boxes, cigar-cases, teacaddies, albums and other items  of Vishnyakov brothers. Exists from 1825».
